This month we moved back into the bedroom and started on the bathroom. Once again, I find that everything takes longer than planned.
The rosebush bloomed again this month, just in time for Christmas. It's California, go figure.
Whitewolffe is very glad to get her desk space under the bed back. The carpet that's too small for any other room fits pretty much perfectly under the bed, and the tapestry makes it hers.
Before I could start on the bathroom, everything needed to be mummified in plastic. The tub was too heavy for the two of us to move and it will only fit through the door sideways, so we moved it over and wrapped it.
Peelaway stripper took off several layers of paint, not just the latex we needed to get rid of. The paint literally came off in strips.
It didn't do a perfect job, though.
When I ran out of peelaway paper, I found that waxed paper makes a good substitute. Good thing, we would have been using that holiday print all year... I also found that while the heat gun doesn't work well on the plaster, it does a great job on the woodwork.
I only managed to finish the walls and ceiling around the tub this time. The rest of the bathroom can be stripped with the shower in place, though. I'm not sure that yellow and aqua is an improvement.
The lower wall isn't tile, and it isn't plaster. What it is I'm not quite sure.
